No matter if you are doing a local shifting within the city or shifting to a different city in India, Proper packing for breakable items like TV is very important. If you don’t pack your television properly, it could get damaged quite easily. In this post I am going to talk about how to pack a television or TV set while for moving while sifting your home.

First of all unplug all the cables from the board and detach cables that is detachable from your TV set. Leave cables, which can’t be detached from your TV like Power cable.

Clean your TV and cables carefully to remove all the dusts particles. Use a very soft cloth to clean the screen, else it could get scratched.

After cleaning, fold all the cables and may be put a label to it to identify it’s a TV cable and for what purpose, like video input, DVD jack, power cable etc

Now its time to pack the TV set. Ideally you should use the original box and packing materials that comes with a new TV set. But if you don’t have them, then you have to buy those packing materials e.g. Bubble Wraps, tapes and cardboard box. You may wrap your TV set with the bubble wrap. Wrap it in two or three layers and then put it in the cardboard box and tape it properly.

Label the front and back of the TV set in the box for easy identification.

While loading your TV set in the Moving truck, make sure to put it in such a way that I don’t get collided with any other box or items in the truck. Ideally screen should face the back and create a cushion to ensure it doesn’t collide.

If you don’t want to do it all yourself, you may always hire a packers and movers company to do the packing and moving.

Packing itself requires lots of attention and care, but when it comes to packing easily breakable items like glassware, cups, plates etc, you should pay more attention while packing them in the box while moving. These breakable items are very sensitive and costly, and I am sure you don’t want them to get damaged during the move while shifting your home. Let me share some easy to follow tips for you to help you pack and move all those valuable breakable items.

• Get some bubble wrap, old newspaper, or breakable packing paper. Put it on the bottom of the cardboard box to create a soft layer.
• Get some old newspaper and tear it to make smaller peaces. Fill these scrambled newspapers into the glass, bowls, cups etc.
• Wrap one Item at a time well with bubble wrap or packing paper. If you don’t have bubble wrap or packing paper then you may use old newspapers instead.
• Once you have finished packing each of the items, then start placing them in the box. Put it straight if possible and fill the gap with papers.
• Now cover the box with some more paper and close it
• Seal the box properly with tape.
• Label each of the boxes to mention it has breakable items inside and to be handled carefully.
